persona

Jung presented the persona as a mask that we present to the world. We use it to conceal our true self in a way that leads Jung to describe this as the “conformity” archetype. Our social species aims to please others with our persona, however this leads to the development of negative traits that contradict our real selves, forming the next archetype: our Shadow.
